Amber Venz + Courtney Kerr

Did any of you watch Bravo's Most Eligible Dallas?  Five scenes into episode one I knew Courtney Kerr was a girl after my own heart.  She is one well-accessorized gal, & I could not keep my eyes off her harness necklace (worn in the infamous sake-bombing scene).  Though not cheap, the "Jane" necklace by Amber Venz is a serious statement piece that would be the perfect addition to a black silk jumpsuit.

Smitten.

There is no way to accurately describe my delight as I previewed the Society Social magalog a week shy of the release of Roxy from My Cup of Te's new furniture / home accents line.  I.Want.Everything. - & not in an obligatory "I should support a fellow blogger" way - but in a "I am SWOONING over these chairs / barcarts / tables / colors / designs / aesthetics". Roxy is equal parts genius, bold, & creative - a true entrepreneuress (at a young age too!). I was even more pleased to see Melanie Duncan's (The Iconic Blog) line of Luxury Monograms (formerly blogged about here) making a cameo in the spread.  A Society Social chippendale chair with a Luxury Monogram pillow is major.  Here's a preview below, & for the rest please head to Society Social

Thoughts Need To Be Provoked.

For those of you that know, or don't know rather - I moved to NYC (in a crazy/packed uhaul/screaming) whirlwind. I have a lovely apartment, with very little natural light & stark white walls... I need some major inspiration.  Majority of my thoughts & time have gone to getting used to this city (that I had visited TWICE prior to moving) - a new job - & a new company.  Not much left in the creative juices area. Now that I have some time to breathe, I'd like to make my new apartment feel like a home rather than a dreary lifeless hotel.  I don't think I can paint the walls (then again, when have I ever followed rules?) thus here is my inspiration for white walls!

Keri Russell + Brooklyn

I was never a huge fan of Brooklyn (other than the Park Slope area) until I saw this.  Look what can be done in Brooklyn!  Her carpenter/hawt contractor/real-man-of-a-hubby used natural refurbished wood throughout the house giving it a serene earthy feel.  Russell chose lightweight fabrics to compliment the various types of woods without drowning them out. How much does this make you drool over the residence (slash him?!)

"Easy to say for a guy whom Russell calls her MacGyver. Deary gutted the place to brick and studs himself, then moved walls to open it up, most notably in the master bath, where now no walls exist at all. The pumpkin-pine floor stayed, though he painstakingly pulled up, numbered, restored, and nailed back every plank. Four 40-foot Dumpsters later, he had turned a warren of suffocating rooms into a stunning, light-filled shell."

Brooklyn is quickly becoming the new West Village - & from these photos I can see why.

Design Crush(es): Emerson Made

There has been quite the buzz floating around about New England's EmersonMade. I adore the works of Emerson & her husband Ryan. This perfect couple left the bustling streets of NYC & headed north to New Hampshire (hello, obviously I am a fan - UNH whattup!) where they renovated / restored an unbelievable farm.  Enough about the house, I'll save that for another post - let's talk about their design!  New Hampshire meets Polo meets JCrew meets Anthropologie. I love it - & if you love it like me, I suggest you stock up on your favorite pieces before the prices skyrocket with their inevitable fame :)
