The NYC Highline

One must-see in NYC is the Highline, the city's "Park In The Sky". The mile & a half long elevated park (it was a former rail structure) was opened to the public in full in June of this year. At any given time, the park is swarmed with camera-toting tourists, artists sketching, children chasing butterflies, & couples on a leisurely stroll.  Nothing I write could adequately capture the unique design elements & architecture of the Highline, so I encourage you to check it out during your next visit to NYC!

Christian Siriano + Brad Walsh

I meant to blog about C.Siriano & B.Walsh's Chelsea apartment a long long time ago. A dance studio - turned apartment possessing vast amounts of charm & natural light made me ridiculously jealous. My office borders Chelsea in NYC - & there is so much to love about the neighborhood. I was not surpised to hear Christian & his beau chose this neighborhood for their new pad, & even more hopeful the stars would align & I would randomly run into them (sadly yet to happen). Christian's interview with Refinery29 was as comical as his on-camera time in Project Runway.  Epically fierce.

Thoughts Need To Be Provoked.

For those of you that know, or don't know rather - I moved to NYC (in a crazy/packed uhaul/screaming) whirlwind. I have a lovely apartment, with very little natural light & stark white walls... I need some major inspiration.  Majority of my thoughts & time have gone to getting used to this city (that I had visited TWICE prior to moving) - a new job - & a new company.  Not much left in the creative juices area. Now that I have some time to breathe, I'd like to make my new apartment feel like a home rather than a dreary lifeless hotel.  I don't think I can paint the walls (then again, when have I ever followed rules?) thus here is my inspiration for white walls!

Yikess....I really need to get back into blogging! I wish I could say in the time that I have been on a vacation from this blog, life has changed drastically - but it hasn't!  I suppose digging deeper into that notion, I believe I live a happy, healthy, successful life ...so maybe I should be glad things aren't drastically different! 

LDW '10 (for those of you who aren't acronym saavy - Labor Day Weekend) was spent at the St. Lawrence River, 1000 Islands area in Upstate NY with my wonderful parents. 

We are so fortunate to be invited often to a sprawling palatial house that sits right on the river every year, with as you can see boasts- breathtaking views. It was so nice to get away & relax, drink copious amounts of wine, & eat til we could no longer move.  The nights often ended with late-night "dance parties" of which MY father was the ringleader.  What.A.Sight.

I find myself wishing there were more holiday 

weekends in the summer. Memorial Day, 4th of July,

& Labor Day just aren't enough, ... maybe I just crave more summertime parties ;-)
