The always chic Jenna Lyons.  6'5 in heels + creative director of J.Crew + ingeniously forward & always managing to out-do herself, needless to say over the years I have developed a strong affinity for her.  She would be another "layering genius" in my book - always somehow managing to pair just the right amount of colors / textures with complimenting accessories. I am convinced you're born with this ability - it cannot be taught. Don't be surprised when they rename J.Crew to Jenna Crew.

More About Moi

- I have an obsession with ombré. Ombré knits, dresses, hair, accessories, ..anything. I've scoured the web looking for ombré pillows / fabric & sadly have come up empty handed.
- There are few things in this world that I love more than Diet Sunkist & Cocoa Crispies.
- I love to cook, but only cook when I'm in a relationship or hosting.  Otherwise I eat cereal & PBJ for dinner. Weird right?
- I love curling up under my UNH (holla!) sweatshirt blanket (& oversized Syracuse shirt) during a thunderstorm & reading blogs for hours on my ipad.
- One of the many things I adore about my girlfriends - we're big fans of handwritten cards & find there is always a reason to send someone you love a card
- Baking + me do not mix.  I hate precise recipes.  I follow recipes like I live my life - making it up as I go with a dash of this + dash of that & hoping it'll all work out for the greater good in the end
- Though I have lived in NY much longer than MA, I believe Boston is my true home & often catch myself telling people "home" is Boston...& if I had to live one place for the rest of my time on this earth - it would be New Hampshire. Magical place I tell ya.
- I will try just about anything off of a plate after 2 glasses of champagne. This was not always the case!
- I was a Social Work major who hand intentions of going to law school but now works on Wall Street but really wants to just decorate lavish residences & travel the world one warm destination at a time. It's difficult for me to even keep up with myself.
- I tend to think I can do & accomplish anything - I rarely acknowledge limits.

Amber Venz + Courtney Kerr

Did any of you watch Bravo's Most Eligible Dallas?  Five scenes into episode one I knew Courtney Kerr was a girl after my own heart.  She is one well-accessorized gal, & I could not keep my eyes off her harness necklace (worn in the infamous sake-bombing scene).  Though not cheap, the "Jane" necklace by Amber Venz is a serious statement piece that would be the perfect addition to a black silk jumpsuit.

If I won the lottery, I'd spend a decent portion of my loot at Oomph & then I'd bask in the glory of turquoise console tables & fire engine red barcarts.  Until then I'll just gaze longingly at these custom made goods available in sixteen different lacquer colors. Their pillows & tufted chairs are also to die for.

The Fenwick table would be such a great addition to a summer home. Hopefully Oomph designers will design a Chatham table or a Fire Island table....

An ode to myself.

Lately I've received tweets & emails wondering why I don't have an "about me" section or page, & truthfully, I'm not entirely sure what I'd write! Thus the idea of a small post was born (& perhaps maybe a series), without futher ado -
10 little nuances about me.

- I live in NYC, formerly Boston MA, formerly Durham, NH & beyond that I'll save for later gators
- In my last life I was a hairdresser. In this life I'm a 25 year old who is neurotic about her hair (right down to knowing what city/town's water will ruin my blowout & refusing to leave my apartment til I'm satisfied with my'do)
- I can't & won't eat cereal out of a bowl.  Only pint glasses or coffee mugs.
- When I wear red lipstick I do horrible things. Hor-ri-ble.
- I have a pretty bad case of wanderlust. re: wan·der·lust: the insatiable desire to travel the world
- I began this blog as a way to catalogue all of my internet finds & products I've stumbled upon. Two years later...my has it grown!
- I am a total sucker for liliacs & pink peonies but... isn't everyone?

- I prefer cocktailing to shopping, shopping to writing, and writing to working. Traveling pretty much trumps all of those. I guess that might be standard when you work in finance!

- In a perfect world I would live in New England during the summer & fall, & Southern California in the winter & spring.  All major holidays would be spent in New Hampshire
- My biggest battle has been to stop & take a moment to be thankful for what I have & the incredible life I live.  Every year my New Year's resolution is to stop chasing the next best thing.
